A mango milkshake is the ideal summer beverage. This recipe is fresh, delicious, and refreshing, and it will be a hit with everyone.
I absolutely love mangoes and with mango season fast approaching what better recipe to share than the perfect mango beverage?
One of my all-time favourite drinks in summer is mango lassi. One day I was really craving some mango lassi, but alas, when I went to the kitchen to make it I realised we had no yoghurt.
So, instead, I decided to recreate this milkshake recipe instead. I love making milkshakes, such as the classic Oreo milkshake or the minty Shamrock shake, but this one is definitely my favourite
This mango milkshake recipe is just as refreshing and just as delicious as mango lassi. A truly yummy drink.
To make this recipe, you need to make sure you have ripe mangoes. There are many varieties of mangoes that can be used, but they need to be ripe.
When it comes to milk, always use cold milk as it will help to give that refreshing taste. I always like to stick to full-fat milk to help give it the best and creamiest texture ever.
To make it lower in calories you can use low-fat milk. For vegans, cashew milk, coconut milk, or almond milk can be used instead.
Personally, I prefer to use honey instead of sugar. Honey and mangoes are a winning combination. If you’re not a fan of honey, then you can replace it with sugar.
Depending on the sweetness of the mangoes, you can alter the amount of sugar and honey used to make them suit your tastes.
A lot of milkshake recipes include ice cream as an ingredient. However, this isn’t necessary because the mangoes provide the creamy texture that every milkshake requires.
If you want to add ice cream, then you can. In this case, the best option for this recipe is vanilla ice cream, but mango ice cream would be even better to emphasise that mango flavour.
While blending, add a scoop of vanilla or mango ice cream to make your mango shake thick, creamy, and rich. For this recipe add 1–2 scoops of ice cream.
When making milkshakes or smoothies, I always like to freeze the glasses for about 15 minutes. This will keep the milkshake cool while you drink it and prevent it from melting.
A delectably creamy milkshake with a refreshing mango flavour. Ideal for the hot summer months.
