This honey barbecue chicken wings recipe is so easy to make yet so flavoursome. Switch this recipe by replacing the chicken wings with chicken drumsticks. However, you choose to make it they are the perfect recipe for you. These wings are always a favourite, and they will soon be one of yours, too!

It’s about time I publish my daughter’s favourite chicken wings recipe! She absolutely LOVES these wings. With this recipe, you will be able to make THE best BBQ chicken wings out there!

Coated in a generous blend of spices then fried until delicious crispy before being lathered in the best homemade honey BBQ sauce ever! Even if you aren’t the biggest fan of anything BBQ flavoured you will fall in love with these BBQ chicken wings.

BBQ chicken is the perfect appetiser for any and every event like parties, sports, barbecues, picnics and so much more! Everything about these chicken wings is so good. From the flawlessly spices chicken to the incredibly tangy yet sweet honey BBQ sauce.

I always use chicken wings with skin as it helps give the honey BBQ wings a crispier exterior. However, you could also use chicken wings without skin. The flavour will still be there, but they simply will not be as crispy. I highly recommend that you use chicken wings with skin.

The chicken wings do need to be dry before you add the spices and what I usually did was pat them with a clean paper towel.

For the BBQ sauce, I always like to use the same brand. Different brands always taste different due to varying contents of salt and other ingredients. If you have tried a lot of different barbecue sauces, then you would know that there are significant differences in taste in certain BBQ sauces.

If you have your own personal favourite BBQ sauce, then just simply use that. I always use Skeeter’s original BBQ sauce, which you can get from Aldi.

For an even quicker recipe, you could just buy a honey BBQ sauce from the supermarket. However, making it homemade is much tastier and you can adjust the sweetness or tanginess as required! The sauce doesn’t take long to make at all, but the option to buy store-bought is always there I suppose if you want to!
