Ingredients

  • 500 g Lamb diced
  • 400 g Okra washed and sliced
  • 2 Onions finely chopped
  • 3 Tomatoes chopped
  • 4 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 cm Ginger grated
  • 2 Green Chilies chopped
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 tsp Chilli Powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 3 tbsp Oil
  • 200 ml Water
  • Coriander for garnish

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  • Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
  • Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  • Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and green chilies. Cook for 2 minutes.
  • Add diced lamb pieces and cook until they turn brown.
  • Stir in chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and pulpy.
  • Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, ground black pepper, and salt. Mix well.
  • Pour in the water, cover the pan, and let the lamb cook for 40-45 minutes until tender.
  • Once the lamb is almost cooked, add sliced okra and cook until they are tender.
  • Sprinkle garam masala powder and mix gently.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with rice or chapati.

Notes

Ensure the okra is thoroughly washed and dried before slicing to prevent sliminess.
Adjust the spice levels according to your preference.
You can add a squeeze of lemon juice for extra tanginess if desired.
